Bhu Chung in the mix for an Australian Training Award

After winning the prestigious South Australian VET teacher/trainer Award in late August, Bhu Chung is now in the running for the this category at the national level. The awards are being held here in Adelaide in mid November. Bhu has been an essential ingredient in our success and his engagement with students and his outreach to students from all corners of the planet are well known.

Bhu acknowledges that he has learnt a lot through teaching commercial cookery and kitchen operations to a diverse range of students and has facilitated professional development days for VET Teachers in Schools, taught children with special needs and taught Asian cookery at various state correctional facilities. He also works in industry and has has travelled extensively to keep his skills up including stints in Japan and France.

Bhu epitomises our focus on teaching through lived experience and passes on his life journey lessons to students from his own journey from Tibet in his teenage years and the challenges he faced to become a respected and much loved member of our AIOH team.

Watch our new video that profiles his journey and wish him the best as he aims for the stars.
